My early understanding of the United State was colored by phrases like “money growing on trees” and “women resembling Marilyn Monroe.” These two phrases were tossed around by the males I encountered during my short life in Mexico and were to follow me to the United States. Using the "cut-and-past" method, I create surrealist scenes depicting the discomfort of the physical body. Often, the body is dismembered or absent, highlighting limbs and facial features. The theme of self-construction through the assembling of foreign parts is the focus of this series.
